Water Department

The water department is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the water plant process and delivering safe and reliable water to all within the City of Gilbert. Water for the City is provided by two wells located just West of Gilbert. The current water treatment system removes iron and manganese, while softening the water. Before being pumped to the distribution system, the water is chlorinated to keep the water safe for drinking on its way to the homes, businesses and schools in Gilbert.

The old water treatment plant was constructed in the early 1970’s, and the City of Gilbert recently built a new water treatment plant which was completed in early 2022.
